Q1. Isn't competition fighting dangerous for my child?

In all tournament, there is lots of emphasis on safety for all particiipants, young and old. The objective of these tournaments is to get as many people participating and having a good time while going through a positive experience. Tournaments organizers and instructors always make sure that the competitors' safety and well being come first.

 

Q2. My child is too shy to take part in kata competition. How can I help her?

Most of the time, sensei are best to help young students get through their kata. Once your child decides to participate, her sensei will take over and make sure that everything goes well and that she has a positive experience whatever the competition's results. Competition becomes an opportunity to teach children how to face a challenge: first prepare for it and then do the best they can.
